We all desire connection and belonging, especially as we enter new seasons of life or contexts. We believe that a few simple steps can help model hospitality for your whole parish and create a real sense of belonging for those new to Catholicism. The goal of this journey is to create belonging for new Catholics in your parish, and help solidify and celebrate this moment in their faith journey.
This journey includes a letter to new RCIA graduates, bulletin inserts, social posts, and an invitation for them to prayerfully write down their story of God in their life.
Everything in this package is ready-made for you to use as is or edit to make it more your own. We've created fully customizable templates in the free-to-use online design tool, Canva. Use all the assets together or pick and choose what makes sense for your community.

An invitation to tell their story.
Hi *NAME*,
Throughout scripture God’s people are called to remember. It helps keep our eyes on God and His faithfulness. We believe that processing and reflecting on how God has worked in our lives helps solidify our faith and allows us to communicate with others what He has done for us. We invite you to write down your story using the question prompt below.
This exercise is for you. You can write it out or make a voice note. You don’t need to share it with others unless you feel the Holy Spirit is prompting you (which I’ll share more about below).
We pray this process brings joy, excitement, and intimacy to your relationship with Jesus.

Next steps after writing your story
If you write your story down and would like to externally process it with someone, I’m available to listen and walk through it with you.
If difficult memories arise that you believe need specific guidance, speaking with a trustworthy Catholic counsellor may interest you. Here is a list of counsellors in our diocese:

Lastly, if you feel prompted by the Holy Spirit to share how God has moved in your life, I know others would be deeply edified by it. Sharing your story with our parish community would be a fairly simple process with a few different options for you to choose from. The first step would be to contact our office or an RCIA leader you know and trust. They will be able to point you in the right direction. We can discuss different avenues to get your story out to your new parish community from there.
For now, though, don’t worry about sharing your story with others. That step may come if or when the time is right. At this moment, book some time by yourself with God and enjoy the process of bringing clarity to your story so you can be reminded of God’s faithfulness and love for you.
Praying for you in this new season,
(Pastor Name or RCIA Leader)

Welcome to the Celebrating New Catholics journey. Below is the recommended rollout plan and a list of all the deliverables available to you.
We recommend using these assets specifically for parishioners who have just graduated from RCIA.
Some things we recommend:
Create touch points that help extend the celebration of new Catholics in your parish. Make space to welcome them on your website, in your bulletin, and more. This is also a great way to keep encouraging current parishioners to recognize newcomers and welcome them in.

Why tell stories? It’s a beautiful way to show how God is moving in your parish and help create familiarity with those who are new to the faith or parish. Here are formats about how you can share stories in your parish.
Take an excerpt from one of the questions that tell of God’s movement in their life. Add their image or name to this social media template. Add the excerpt into the caption.
You can gather questions 1-3 from an individual and paste them into a resource on your parish website. Add an image of them in the resource and publish online as a testimonial to what God is doing in the life of your parish.
If people feel like sharing in person, you can always invite them to the front before or after the homily and ask them 1-2 questions around: How has God transformed your life? When did you feel called into the Catholic Church?
