Christmas is a time where people of all ages, backgrounds, and faith journeys come together to celebrate the birth of our Savior. This is an incredible opportunity to welcome newcomers, help bring them into the beauty of Christmas, and get them connected with a faith community.

This journey helps all parishioners engage with the Christmas season, and find a warm welcome at your parish.

Welcome to the Christmas Journey

Below is the recommended rollout plan and also a list of all the deliverables available to you. This isn’t the only way to do it! But we think it might be really effective.

When should I roll this out?

This journey is made to start the Sunday before Christmas but printing and prepping some of this material beforehand is key. This journey pairs well with the Advent journey.

Part 1: Create a Christmas Connect page

As newcomers experience Mass for the first time in a long time, or maybe for the first time ever, creating a specific page for them can be a powerful way for them to know that they are there for a reason. The things to focus on this page would be ways to connect with the parish. Depending on what is happening in your ministry this could be a chat with the priest, or signing up for the upcoming Alpha!

Part 2 - Create a QR code for the connect card (*Optional)

If you are using a QR code for your connect card option, create it using the free QR generator mentioned in the "Tutorials" section. Why use a QR code? It lowers the barriers for people to learn more and a really easy way for them to connect. We recommend linking people to your new Christmas connect page.

This is also a good time to edit the Connect Card you’ve chosen with your parish name and parish website url.

Part 3 - Print signs + connect card

After updating the Connect card you’ve chosen, you can print this using these printing instructions. Include any other signs you want for promoting Christmas Mass.

Before printing the Connect Cards, update the QR code with one that goes to your website. The rest of the print material should be sent so it’s ready in time for Christmas Mass Promotion.

Part 4 - Promote Christmas Mass

A week or two before Christmas, point parishioners to the invitation cards you’ve printed out. Place them at the back of the parish or in pews to make them accessible. Place any promotional signs outside the parish promoting Christmas Mass for non-parishioners in your community. Schedule all your social posts over the Christmas season.

Part 6 - Celebrate Christmas

Place Connect cards in the pews during Christmas & Christmas Eve Mass. This will create an opportunity to connect with those who don’t regularly attend Mass. Post Christmas relevant articles and videos for the community.
